February 1, 2024Company launches product
February 1, 2024AS the Hong Kong 7s is ready to kick-off early tomorrow morning, corporate bodies associated with the event are in a maul of their own.
This includes Pacific Coatings Limited with the company’s promotion with Dulux that started on February 3 to March 15 in all Dulux Trade Centres and major hardware stores Fiji wide.
Perhaps only in a rugby crazy nation like Fiji, people bought paints during the hurricane season to participate for a chance to experience the atmosphere at the So Kon Po stadium.
Tomorrow, Nirendra Nath, 65, of Votua Road, Narere will be the lucky man to have won a trip to watch the Vodafone gladiators take on Wales early tomorrow morning.
Mr Nath purchased a 4 x 4 litres Berger stop rust mission brown at Dulux Trade Centre in Nakasi.
Pacific Coatings Limited is the first paint manufacturing company established in Fiji back in the early 1960s known back then as BJN producing the recognised brands British Paints & Berger Paints.
Over the past 40 years many name changes have occurred until its recent being Pacific Coatings Limited which is proudly the only 100 per cent locally owned paint manufacturing company in Fiji and the Pacific Region.
The company was previously owned and operated by Orica Australia (currently known as Dulux Group Limited) and trading as Dulux Fiji.
In 2006 Orica Coatings (Fiji) Limited, a subsidiary of Dulux Group Limited Australia, which was trading as Dulux Fiji in the region sold its shareholding to a local consortium Pacific Equity Limited.
As such the company also changed its name from Orica Coatings Limited to “Pacific Coatings Limited”.
The divestment of Dulux Group Limited’s paint part of the business operation in the Pacific region signalled a strong confidence it had in the local consortium’s capability of not only owning but operating the business to expected international standards in providing total product quality and customer services.
Dulux Group Limited Australia, under its Trade Technical and Marketing Agreement, continues its strategic relation and involvement with Pacific Coatings Limited through long term provision and support in the brand licensing, marketing and research and overall improvement of our technology.
Being the only 100 per cent locally owned paint manufacturing company in Fiji, Pacific Coatings Limited strongly believes in growth of the local industries and fully supports the Fijian Made initiative.
In April 2013 the company was recognised for its efforts and is proud to market its products under the ‘Fijian Made’ banner.
Dulux products are widely distributed in Fiji through Retail outlets including major hardware stores.
To specifically cater for the trade & DIY markets, the company has successfully launched ‘Dulux trade Centres’ under franchise agreements with reputable businesses with centres providing a ‘complete painting and decorating solution’ to customers.
The Dulux brand known for its quality and conformance to world standards has gained respect among reputable architects, engineers and building contractors. Pacific Building Solutions, J S Hill & Associates and the Lamana Development company are some of the many contractors that Dulux has partnered with on major projects around the country.
The company has a very successful track record of major projects with the local resorts, industrial plants, shipping companies and also the Fijian Government as the current supplier of paints under the whole of government tender award.
The Hilton Group, Wyndham Resort, Sofitel Resort, Fiji Sugar Corporation, the Fiji Navy, and the most recent being the Grand Pacific Hotel are some of the many projects the company has successfully completed.
Pacific Coatings Limited has over the years earned its name in the export market servicing the major Pacific Island markets and continues to strengthen its presence in the Pacific trade under the initiatives of the MSG agreement that has seen an increased foreign exchange earnings and overall contribution to the local economy.
Given the strong background the company has with world recognised brands, Pacific Coatings Limited achieved another milestone in October 2013 with the appointment of the company as the sole distributor of the Selleys brand in Fiji and the Pacific.
The Selleys brand is known for its quality and has been without a doubt the leader in the adhesives and sealants business.
With this latest inclusion in its already strong product portfolio for the painting and decorating industry, Pacific Coatings Limited is proud to give its customers a “total painting and decorating solution.”
This is the first ever promotion by PCL on Hong Kong 7’s where its sponsoring a customer to watch the Hong Kong 7s.
The company is proud given that its the first paint manufacturing company to run such a promotion.
