Selleys Liquid Nails Fast Grab

Selleys Liquid Nails Fast Grab is a high strength construction adhesive that provides strong initial holding power. The water-based formulation is low odour and allows for easy water clean up.

  • Fast grab minimizes the need to support joints while product cures.
  • Strong bond – which is flexible enough to respond to building movement, allowing a strong bond to be maintained over time.
  • Easily cleans up with water.
  • Meets Green Building Council VOC limits for general purpose adhesives (<50g/L).
  • Meets or exceeds requirements specified by Australian Standard AS 2329-1999.
  • Bridges gaps, up to 9mm, on rough and ill-fitting construction material.
  • Timber paneling to walls
  • Skirting boards
  • Styrene foam panels and blocks
  • Architraves
  • Particle board to masonry surfaces
  • Tasks where nailing is not desirable
  • MDF
  • Particleboard
  • Timber
  • Plasterboard
  • Styrene Foam
  • Masonry
  • Concrete
  • Tiles
  • Ceramics
  • Metals
  • Rubber
  • Glass
  • Most plastic – pre test plastic to determine compatibility
  • Not for use on polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon or silicone.
  1. Ensure surfaces are dry and free from oil, grease and dust.
  2. Cut cartridge tip, fit nozzle and cut to desired opening (5mm) then insert into caulking gun. We recommend Selleys Light Speed Caulking Gun.
  3. Apply bead along length of joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm.
  4. Bring surfaces together as soon as possible (within the first 5 minutes). Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over total bond area.
  5. Allow adhesive to set (minimum 24hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping. Use with mechanical fasteners in high stress applications.

Limitations:

  • Avoid use in tightly clamped joints eg. Cabinet making or joinery
  • Not for use on mirrors. Use Liquid Nails® Mirror Metal & Glass
  • Not for metals heated by direct sunlight or for wet areas. Use Liquid Nails® Mirror Metal & Glass
  • For sheet timber flooring to flat surfaces Liquid Nails® High Strength is recommended.
  • Do not use as the sole bonding agent for structural bonding.
  • Not for use on polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon or silicone.
  • Bonds are not water resistant. Protect bonds from water penetration if used in exterior applications.
  • Faster curing is achieved when at least one surface is porous.
  • Liquid Nails Fast Grab should always be used in conjunction with mechanical fasteners in structural, critical or high stress applications.
  • Usually a strong bond is achieved in 24 hours and continues to strengthen over 3 days. Expect longer times for less porous surfaces and in cold weather.
  • Bridges gaps up to 9mm
  • Suitable for sheltered exterior applications
  • Paintable after 12 hours
  • Cured Liquid Nails Fast Grab residues can be removed by rubbing with Acetone. This may take a few minutes to penetrate.
  • Liquid Nails Fast Grab shrinks slightly on curing.
  • High humidity and low temperatures can both significantly slow the cure rate of Liquid Nails Fast Grab especially when used on non-porous surfaces.
  • When applying to one surface, ensure sufficient Liquid Nails Fast is used so that some adhesive extrudes out when surfaces are brought together. Then wipe off excess if necessary. If glue is not visible, then sufficient contact may not have been made between the surfaces and a weak joint may result.
